Multiply your area in square feet by the depth in feet (depth in inches divided by 12) to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 (since 1 cubic yard = 3 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft = 27 cubic feet). Formula: Cubic Yards = (Length ft × Width ft × (Depth in ÷ 12)) ÷ 27.
